3K - $104K a year The Engineering Manager is a hands-on management position responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facilities, including equipment, tools to ensure guest service and sustainability standards are achieved and maintained throughout the hotel/other public areas.
This position will report to the Director of Engineering.
The position includes oversight of construction, maintenance or repair activities in carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, air conditioning/heating and landscaping areas.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Become a positive face to the engineering operation and accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
Create a relationship with the engineering team to accomplish goals as a team.
The goal is to create a culture of respect and integrity throughout the Maintenance Department.
Communicate with vendors as directed from the director.
Full management of the maintenance team and their daily productivity by addressing and resolving all of the maintenance issues reported from the daily facility tours; via smart sheets/checklists and/or guest reporting.
Execute strong preventative maintenance program created by the director for hotel rooms, condos and mechanical equipment.
Have computer skill ability to utilize email, payroll software, Microsoft word and other computer operated systems Ability to be available on weekends and holidays to keep operation on track Manage duties and functions as it relates to decision making, organizing, planning, controlling, communicating and directing the maintenance department team members.
As well as covering any shift as needed and performing the duties which can include moving items, HVAC/refrigeration troubleshooting, heating troubleshooting, equipment operation, basic electrical, basic/emergency plumbing repairs, etc.
Directly in charge of maintaining a tight pm schedule to avoid emergencies and downtime that may affect guest experience.
Due to the scope of the work you can expect physically demanding work that includes using tools and equipment while responding in a timely manner to emergencies as they occur.
